Roadless Rule Revoked
In the final days of the Clinton administration, the Forest Service adopted the Roadless Area Conservation Rule prohibiting road construction and timber harvesting in all inventoried roadless areas.
Now, the Bush administration has given advisory power to state governors–allowing input regarding management of roadless areas for state needs.
